The Board of Neighborhood Commissioners (Commission) is now accepting nominations for the 2025 EmpowerLA Awards. These annual awards recognize Neighborhood Councils that best fulfill their City Charter mandate of promoting more citizen participation in government and making government more responsive to local needs.
The next meeting of the Los Angeles Charter Reform Commission will be held in the John Ferraro Council Chamber room 340 at Los Angeles City Hall. The Charter Reform Commission will only be taking in-person public comment. Please note that on the agenda, there is a section for Neighborhood Council Community Impact Statements.

In addition to the Charter Reform Commission meeting this Wednesday, July 16 at 4:00 PM, the Commission will hold a meeting on Saturday, July 19 at the USU Grand Salon at Cal State Northridge (CSUN). This session will feature presentations on the 1999 Charter Reform process and an overview of the current Los Angeles City Charter.

The Neighborhood Council Budget Advocates delivered a letter to Los Angeles elected officials on Tuesday, March 25, urging them to avoid across-the-board cuts without considering their long-term impacts and offered recommendations to address a nearly $1 billion deficit at City Hall in the coming fiscal year.
