 "The STNC Safe Traffic and Transportation committee (STAT) invites you to join us for our Service Day, May 31, 2025 from 9 a.m. to noon, sponsored by L.A. Council District 7. We will be watering and placing mulch around trees along Foothill Boulevard in Sunland-Tujunga. All ages are welcome! We will be gathering in the rear parking lot of North Valley City Hall (CD7's brick building) at 9 a.m. to begin our work: 7747 Foothill Blvd | Los Angeles, CA 91042. We need you! All ages welcome!"

BUDGET ADVOCATES REPORT - APRIL 2025

Mayor Bass released her proposed Budget for the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year on Monday, April 21.  During her State of the City address, she said the shortfall was around $800 million.  The shortfall is the result of new, costly labor agreements (particularly for the Police Department), revenues that did not live up to the previous budget’s optimistic projections, and an unrealistically low budget for liability payouts.  This budget shortfall did not have to be.  Better, more realistic budgeting would have left us on more solid ground, but here we are.

Mayor to Release Her Budget Recommendations Monday @ 12noon

Upcoming State of the City Address by Mayor Karen Bass, where she will be releasing the Mayor’s Office proposed budget. This State of the City Address is tentatively scheduled to take place on Monday, April 21st, 2025 at 12:00pm.

SLO Caloca reported that Tujunga’s “Part 1” (serious) crimes are down from 48 last month to 44. That's -8.3%.

Sunland’s Part 1 crimes dropped from 88 down to 68, or -22.7%!
