Mayor's Office Updates:

Van Nuys Inside Safe - Last Thursday, Mayor Karen Bass’ Inside Safe initiative brought 20 unhoused Angelenos, who were living near the intersection of Cedros Ave and Bessemer St, inside off the streets and voluntarily into housing. In close partnership with Council District 6, Angelenos were connected with critical social services while debris was removed, returning this area to the community. Under Mayor Bass, homelessness has decreased by 11%, and Inside Safe has resolved 138 encampments across all 15 Council Districts. This work will continue with the urgency Angelenos deserve because no Angeleno should be living on the street.
Improving Public Safety - Burglaries in the Valley are down by 42% since last August. Mayor Bass announced a surge of LAPD resources following a spike in break-ins while also advancing key community safety initiatives like Summer Night Lights, which served more than 50,000 Angelenos across seven Valley parks this summer.
