NC Budget Advocates Zoom Town Hall on the Mayor's Proposed Budget

Posted on 04/17/2024

The Neighborhood Council Budget Advocates are sponsoring a virtual Town Hall on the Mayor's Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2024-2025, which will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. via Zoom.  Register here.

The Mayor is required by the City Charter to release her Proposed Budget for the next fiscal year by April 22 (extended from the 20th this year due to the weekend).  The City Council must act on that Budget by the end of May.  Before then, the City Council Budget, Finance and Innovative Committee will hold hearings with each of the City Departments and labor partners.  The Neighborhood Council Budget Advocates are typically invited to make a presentation with our budget recommendations.

This April 27th Town Hall is an opportunity for you to get familiar with the Proposed Budget and related online resources so you are equipped to make your voice heard with the Budget, Finance and Innovation Committee, the City Council and the Mayor.  New Council File 24-0600 has been opened and the proposed Budget and related documents will be posted there once they have been released.  There is where your NC can file its budget-related Community Impact Statements and where public comments may be submitted.

Please register here to receive the Town Hall Zoom link, to submit any Budget-related questions you may have, and to make a language interpretation request.

Please share this invitation with your NC colleagues and your Stakeholders -- everyone is welcome!

We hope to see representatives from all 99 Neighborhood Councils in attendance at this Town Hall!

Thank you.
