Good morning,

Below are updates for your consideration including storm related updates.

Storm Updates from StreetsLA

Since Sunday 2/4, StreetsLA has received over 650 service requests related to mudslides. Nearly 2/3 of the requests were closed as of Friday, 2/9.

Over 60% of reported mudslide and landslide locations are in the hillside areas of Council Districts 4, 5 and 11 - particularly the Laurel Canyon neighborhood of CD4, the Beverly Glen and Benedict Canyon communities of CD5, and Mandeville Canyon in CD11.

The sustained intensity of several days of rain, combined with Angelenos emerging from their homes and driving roadways more frequently, has contributed to an increase in reported potholes.

Since Sunday 2/4, StreetsLA has received over 2,000 service requests related to potholes, with more than half of those requests coming in since Thursday.

Hundreds of locations have been addressed already, and crews will continue their diligent and efficient work to make repairs as quickly as possible.

Report potholes to 3-1-1 or through the MyLA311 app.

Since Sunday 2/4, StreetsLA has received nearly 500 service requests related to tree emergencies. Thanks to our crews' incredible efforts, over 95% of these requests have been closed.

Al Fresco Financial Assistance Program

Mayor Bass announced that restaurant owners can now apply for the permanent Al Fresco outdoor dining program. The outdoor dining program originally was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and remains popular. The Mayor also launched financial relief for businesses owners to help them continue participating in the permanent program.

Small business owners will be automatically considered for the Fee Relief Program upon submitting their application for a revocable permit ― the permit required to operate outdoor dining on the sidewalks and on-street. Business owners are encouraged to apply early to take advantage of the fee relief and ensure adequate time for processing and inspections. As many as 1,800 small businesses are expected to benefit from the Mayor’s fee relief program.
