DESIGN ADVISORY COMMITTEE (DAC)

Foothill Blvd. Corridor Specific Plan (FBCSP) & Design Guidelines Manual (PDF Format *) A Specific Plan exists in the Sunland Tujunga Community known as the Foothill Boulevard Corridor Specific Plan and includes a Design Standards Manual for the Plan. The Design Advisory Committee (DAC) of the Sunland Tujunga Neighborhood Council reviews all proposals for change in use of a property within the plan's area. The DAC meets on the first and third Monday of each month at 7 PM (check calendar for agenda) at the Sunland Tujunga North Valley City Hall. Contact Lloyd Hitt at E-mail: LandMHitt@compuserve.com to be placed on the DAC agenda regarding any projects within the Foothill Boulevard Corridor Specific Plan area.

WHAT IS THE DESIGN ADVISORY COMMITTEE (DAC)?

From STNC Bylaws Ver 2.72: The Design Advisory Committee is a standing committee consisting of community stakeholders and Board members who shall be appointed as deemed appropriate by the Board. The Design Advisory Committee is a standing committee that:

  • Meets at least once per month
  • Contains up to five Board members, so that a majority of a quorum of the Board will not be present at its Committee meetings.
  • Sends Committee members to attend Planning Commission meetings and other meetings dealing with city development and land use.
  • Meets with representatives of prospective new businesses in the community and negotiates with those representatives to promote community standards of architecture, appearance, and preservation of scenic areas.
  • Issues reports and recommendations to the Board on issues and developments within its purview

Fill out and submit to the STNC Office at 7747 Foothill Blvd, Room 101, Tujunga, 91042. You will be notified of the time set aside for your presentation at a meeting of the Design Advisory Committee.
